Ghana's Black Stars head coach has named a 25-man squad for the crucial AFCON 2027 qualifier against Nigeria, with several Kumasi-based players earning call-ups.

The squad includes three Asante Kotoko players — midfielder Emmanuel Sarkodie, defender Kwame Poku, and goalkeeper Danlad Ibrahim — reflecting the club's strong domestic form this season.

The match, scheduled for Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi, is expected to draw a capacity crowd of 40,000. Ticket sales opened this morning and the lower tier was sold out within two hours.

"Playing Nigeria at home in Kumasi gives us a massive advantage. The fans here are incredible," said captain Thomas Partey in a pre-squad announcement interview.

Ghana currently sits second in Group C with 7 points, one behind Nigeria. A win would put the Black Stars top of the group with two games remaining.
