Asante Kotoko SC has completed the signing of Brazilian forward Carlos Mendes on a two-year deal as the club prepares for their CAF Champions League campaign.
Mendes, 26, arrives from Clube Atlético Mineiro's reserve team and is expected to add firepower to Kotoko's attack. The Porcupine Warriors begin their continental campaign next month.
"I have heard so much about Kotoko and the passion of the fans. I am ready to give everything for this great club," Mendes said through an interpreter at his unveiling at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
Coach Prosper Narteh Ogum expressed confidence that the new signing would make an immediate impact. "Carlos has the quality and hunger we need at this level," he said.
The club has also renewed contracts with key players including midfielder Emmanuel Sarkodie and goalkeeper Danlad Ibrahim, signaling serious intent for the continental stage.
